Over 100 years of experience

Neil started his Medical Career in the British Army as a GP and later trained as a Cardiologist. He then changed specialities to Ophthalmology, training at St. Thomas’s and Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, two of the most prestigious eye hospitals in the UK. After 20 years of service he left the Army to join the NHS as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. Now with over 50 years of experience as a Doctor, Neil is excited to start a new horizon alongside Steve offering exemplary private healthcare to the residents of West Norfolk and beyond.

Stephen is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 25 Years experience and Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, with a comprehensive background. He completed higher surgical training across South London, followed by three years of specialist oculoplastics fellowship training at institutions including Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr Byard became a consultant at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital NHS Trust in 2013.

He is a highly experienced cataract surgeon, having completed over 16,000 cataract procedures, managing complex cases, and performing multifocal and toric intra-ocular lens placements. His expertise also encompasses all aspects of oculoplastic surgery, including lacrimal (watery eye), eyelid surgery, tumour reconstruction, and orbital work.

Michaela started her clinical career for the NHS in Ely working her way up from the front desk of Reception to Practice Operations Manager over 12 years. On promotion , Michaela then spent over 3 years in a more rural practice in Norfolk as Assistant Practice Manager. During her career she has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience in not only running an efficient practice but also a deep understanding of patient needs and wellbeing.

Kristy is an experienced aesthetics Nurse Practitioner and Independent Nurse Prescriber and with a background in dermatology she is focussed on helping patients achieve natural results.

A qualified nurse registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council, Kristy has worked in healthcare since 2007. She began her career in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge before relocating to Norfolk in 2010 where she continued her clinical career at the Queen Elizabth Hospital in King’s Lynn, gaining experience in radiology, cardiology, mental health and dermatology.

Kristy has been working in medical aesthetics since 2019 and has undertaken extensive training and mentorship in a wide range of specialist treatments and techniques. She takes a personalised approach to every patient, enhancing natural features, maintaining individuality to help people look and feel like the best version of themselves.

Outside of work, Kristy enjoys spending time with her young daughter and her dogs particularly exploring the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.

Helen Smith is the welcoming face and warm voice of our clinic, bringing a wealth of care, dedication, and clinical experience to her role as our Lead Receptionist. Helen excels at making every patient feel comfortable, valued, and completely at ease from the moment they walk through our doors.

She began her professional journey in the hospitality sector, where she mastered the art of first-class customer service, before transitioning into healthcare. She is a qualified Optical Assistant and boasts extensive experience as a Medical Receptionist, giving her a thorough understanding of clinic environments and patient needs.

A year ago, Helen relocated from Hertfordshire to Norfolk to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter—a move that has brought her immense joy. Outside of the clinic, Helen is highly artistic. She has channelled her creativity into a thriving online business, designing and producing vibrant, colourful art prints transferred onto a wide range of unique materials.
